Fellow visitors, friends, and brethren:
This world has came up with many different beliefs, by different traditions, cultures, and eras. In this, I have taken precautions when it comes to the serious matter of what I believe. Before I start on what I believe, and why I believe the way I do, let me first start off this topic by asking you a simple question: Does everything require faith?
To answer that question, we must first know what faith actually is. According to Merriam Webster's dictionary, faith is believing in something that is lacking [physical] proof. When coming upon this, I notice that we do not have logical, rational evidence that the big bang did occur. It is only a theory. A theory is something that is lacking evidence, so therefore it does require faith in order to believe in that.
Having that said, we realize that even secularist/atheist have faith in something, may it be faith in science or in someone they trust. Everyone has faith. We also realize it takes quite a bit of faith to believe in something such as a single singularity (which, I might add is smaller then a cell) expanded and created all of this - even energy. The reason why I do not believe in the big bang theory is because of:
1) Energy cannot be created nor destroyed. It is eternal. So therefore, it didn't create it.
and, 2) It is unbelievable because of it's lack of evidence, and it completely goes against the laws of science in numerous ways.
There are many more reasons, but there isn't any need to list them all unless they're upon request. Moving on from that, I must say science has it's intellectual discoveries, and other times it has it's ignorant ones. I am not saying science itself is ignorant, but rather saying the scientist are ignorant. They declare something a law or fact in science, and then they go against it fully with an ignorant theory.
Many people believe that there could be a deistic god (a god who came, made this world, and then left it to evolve into the current era), but that requires faith as well. As some scientist would call it, "blind faith". There was no evidence of a deistic god, and it is correct that there isn't any physical evidence to prove that there isn't one. But, that is like saying, "My apple evolved into a carrot because scooby doo and the gang came by and told it to." There is obviously no "Scooby doo", but can we prove that there isn't one? I don't believe so.
If that example didn't work for you, try this one: Take a man and he is walking down the street. He claims he seen a fictional god called "Zamorak", in real life. However, that fictional god comes from a game called, Runescape. We cannot say, that god doesn't exist, because we have no physical proof of it. Instead, we realize that is does not exist because it comes from a game. It was a made up god in an online game.
Thus, we must know that the claim of a deistic god is completely illogical, and goes against the average logical mind. Having this said, we now see that a deistic god cannot be in the picture. If you still believe in Zamorak or Scooby Doo, that is your opinion, your belief. I will respect that.
Moving on from that and briefly going back, we realize that we all have faith in something. My faith goes in my friends, my girlfriend, my family, and in the God of Israel. I am a Christian. However, I am not one to sit around and not keep my mind open to hear others opinion. I am a Christian because:
1) Jesus has shown Himself to me. It wasn't any chemical based experience, but rather a supernatural one. I know this to be true because of evidence. Not of science, but of spiritual evidence.
We do not need science all the time for evidence. For example, science doesn't prove that you love your family. But you know it to be true because you literally do. In the same way, I do not need scientific evidence of my supernatural encounter.
2) I grew up around Masons who didn't follow the God I now serve. I didn't find Him, instead He found me by giving me a Bible, and by telling me He is God. Yes, indeed, He has given me a Bible. I requested one in prayer one day, looked up, and there it was. Scientist and evolutionary scholars cannot even give a scientific (or logical) explanation than this.
3) I do not believe in evolution because science is to observe life. We weren't there during the world's creation. How could we then observe it? In the same way, evolution is just a theory - collected ideas stored up into one. It isn't a fact, evolutionist even admit that it isn't.
They found bones and placed them together to form an evolutionary time line to explain the origins of humanity. Completely false, incorrect, ignorant, and far from intelligent, in my humble opinion.
For those of you who still believe in this theory, I do pitty you for your ignorance. I do hope that someday you will realize, like I have, that this world wasn't evolving, it never was - and never will be.
Sincerely yours,
Zack Powell
